If you haven't already done so, please check out The Abbasse ESTREP Plan. Some Education funding will be increased by the additional revenue generated by the ESTREP Plan. Additionally, proper legislation and oversight will be needed to ensure that Michigan students are getting the resources which they need and deserve. For Michigan to excel in Education, the playing field needs to be leveled out for ALL students, in EVERY district across the state.

Charter Schools are siphoning funds from our Public Education system. This 'experiment' is nearly over and the results do not meet up with the promises. In nearly every category, Charter Schools have performed equally to Public Education, and have not succeeded in raising the bar on student performance. Unlike my opponents who believe that increasing or removing the cap on the number of school charters, I believe that existing Charter Schools should privatize and stop receiving state or district funding, and that our Public School system should be strengthened.
