As the dust settles...
Wednesday, November 8, 2006 - 2:30am
This has been an incredibly tough and hard-fought campaign. Currently only 85% of the precincts have reported and Mark Jansen is in the lead. It looks like he may win... but we will not give in just yet. Our campaign has received complaints of wrongly spoiled ballots from some of the precincts. Since the complaints were called in to our campaign, we gave our word to those affected that we would ensure that their votes are counted correctly. We had to deploy a poll challenger to sort things out. Therefore, to respect the wishes of those who called in their complaints, Al will not conceed the election until the issues are resolved and the votes are counted properly. The importance of every citizen's vote is not to be taken lightly and we want to ensure that the votes are counted as they were cast. We will post updates as we learn more from our poll challenger.
Vote TODAY - Every vote matters
Tuesday, November 7, 2006 - ELECTION DAY
It all comes down to TODAY! Please support and vote for Albert Abbasse. Albert Abbasse has the experience, education, and leadership skills to turn Michigan’s economy around. His opponent, Mark Jansen is a career politician who has already spent six years in the Michigan House of Representatives and has had his opportunity to affect change. He did not! Albert Abbasse will represent the people of the 28th district and will bring fresh ideas and a new voice to Lansing; not represent his political party and special interests with the same old ineffective leadership that we have seen from Mark Jansen’s past legislative terms.
Albert Abbasse is NOT a career politician. Mr. Abbasse is an economist, an educator, and a fiscally responsible Democrat who believes in personal responsibility and efficient government. Albert Abbasse is committed to working with both sides of the aisle to do what is best for Michigan and Kent County. He believes that our legislators are currently more concerned with the welfare of their political party, than they are with the welfare of their constituents; now isn’t a time for partisan politics. Albert Abbasse has the experience and the education to help Michigan responsibly replace the SBT with a fair and equitable, common sense business tax. He wants to ensure the livelihood of our middle-class, not special interests. Michigan doesn’t need another career politician, but it sure could use a fresh voice and an experienced economist right now. Please VOTE TODAY!
